There may be an audience for Rob's comforting, encouraging style, but the lesson I watched was called "steps that guarentee better photography" and the message was basically "don't be afraid, look at the histogram, experiment a little" etc. zzzzzzzz And he just stands still waving a camera around. No examples, nothing concrete. He seems like a nice guy but man, was this a huge bore and disappointment.
To be honest, I just bought my first ever DSLR a cannon xsi. I know absolutely nothing about photography. on other hand I'm master in Photoshop and web development. these classes are EXACTLYY what I needed to kick start digital photography learning process. now if you don't find any of these videos good enough, then that is great because you already know alot.
Rob Sheppard sounds like he's talking to an elementary school class or to someone who just bought their first D-SLR and is afraid to use it. Rob, don't tell us not to be afraid of learning how our cameras work, tell us how they work and how we can get better by learning all the features that are available.
I spent $20 for a month of hopefully learning how to be a better photographer and I discover that after many hours of listening to Rob, I've learned nothing except how to try to stay awake listening to someone talking about one of my favorite subjects ... photography!
Rob, teach photography. If people are afraid of the histogram, so be it. Spend your time teaching those of us that DO want to learn.
