The elements of layout and design play many different roles in communication. You will be shown how designers use layout and design to convey information and concepts. Chuck walks you through grids, and gives you examples of various systems. You will be shown how to design a workable grid. Chuck combines all the elements in Chapter 3, and shows you how you can do the same. Typical layouts are demonstrated and options are given. Visual examples of outstanding layouts found in newspaper, brochures, web pages, and magazines are shared at the conclusion of class.
